The Various Animals that I work around

Let me begin by explaining where I work. I work at a company that supplies mining equipment for mines and companies around the world. I know that it sounds thrilling, but unfortunately it isnt. Most days I wake up wishing that the whole place would burn down, but here I sit writing this article instead of flames crashing through the windows.

The main reason for this article is the animals that I work around. Although our main line of work here is mining equipment, it also seems as if we work in a taxidermy studio. The owner of the company has traveled all over the world in order to slay every animal possible. He has then stuffed them and placed them all over the office. Right now I am sitting underneath a mule deer. I cannot name all of the animals, but I have counted them and there are over 50. We also have a rather large glass case in the middle of the office which contains an African lion that is posed as if it is about to eat a poor African deer. We also have a cheetah, several bears (stuffed and rugs), a zebra skin, cougars, lions, wildabeasts, moose, mountain goatselk and other various African animals that I have no idea what they are called.

When I first started working here, I was incredibly intimidated by all of the wondering eyes watching me, but I have since learned to ignore them all. Thankfully, the owner is retiring and he is going to be building a 'trophy' room for all of his many kills.

It is quite humourous watching visitors come in for the first time and be enthralled by the various animals. I suggested to the HR department that they add the question- are you a member of PETA to the employment application, but they didnt think that was very funny.
Taylor lives in the beautiful state of Montana (The Last Best Place) with her beloved pug, Thornton. She is addicted to skiing and everything outside. She hopes to one day find the love of her life and start a family.
